Your Love I Found
03:20
|
|||
Let's sing some good old-fashioned tune
About the sun gone 'round the moon
And love that never fades too soon
-And really makes 'em swoon
Let's take a chance it won't take long
It just so happens I know the song
Do feel free to sing along
-It don't matter if it's wrong
At times I felt so run around
Turned inside out flipped upside down
Off course and of course run aground
-Until your love I found
Like a square wheel rolling down the block
Like a square meal left and gone to rot
In search of the thing I had not
-Until your love I got
Rosy lips and pale white skin
And swaying hips and genuine
Strong love for me through thick and thin
-That grows and never ends
You took my hand and took my name
And took made heart and took the rain
And turned it into sun again
-My roughness you made plane
Contained within this little tune
The love that's shared between the two
Of us is spelled out plain and true
-Just as the morning dew
Spreads moisture upon all the blades
Grass even those in the shade
Leaves none untouched leaves none dismayed
-For together we will stay

Lifeline*
06:55
|
|||
Weather's growing colder
Winter's almost here
This fall we've grown older
Than our years
The spring of life's begun
Into the great unknown
Some shake, some ramble, I roll
And pray the breeze of fate at our backs gently blows
Caught a glimpse of our lives
Past Eden and the Fall
Past the flood and the tide
Past the Jericho walls
Past the blood of the Nile
Past the dominion of sin
Past the Great Exile
I saw our lives begin to begin
-again and again and again
Standing in the threshold
Waiting to come in
Between what's to be
And all that's ever been
In the here and the now
Through the conveyance of time
Life ain't no circle, life is a line
Spiraling in on itself
'Till the day we collide
And become inseparable from the divine

East of the sun, West of the moon
In a land far away
Lies a castle of ice in a field of white
Between night and day
Through many a mile and many a trial
We will make our way
To the land that I've seen clear in my dreams
As though I were awake
But the path is never easy
The road ain't one to forgive
I'll always be there to relieve you
Though I've not much to give
Nobody knows where this road really goes
But we will soldier on
For the love that we share will help us to bear
The load that we took on
I have faith in you and what you can do
And all you've already done
Has driven us near, so be strong my dear
For we are almost home
But the path is never easy
And the road ain't one to forgive
I'll always be there to relieve you
Though I've not much to give

World Without Love
05:27
|
|||
You are the thunder
I am the roar
You are the rain
I am the storm
We once were strangers
Now strangers no more
The calm met with comfort
Comfort met with warmth
But without your love
I'm a rich man turned poor
Though most is uncertain
Of this I am sure
There can't be fire
Without a flame
A burning desire
Imprisoned enslaved
Though with you beside me
My strength I'll regain
For your love resides in me
In my heart and my veins
A world without love
Is a world without light
Without grace from above
Without joy or delight
Where the sun's glorious rays
Pierce not shades of the night
Is a world filled with darkness
Misfortune and strife
Where all battles are lost
And no victor unites
For a world without love
Cannot help but divide
There can't be fire
Without a flame
No burning desire
To call you by name
For a world without love
Leaves you crippled and lame
While no hope but the sweet release
Of death through pain
Thank God we have fire
And fuel for the flames
Of our burning desire
Of our passionate rage
Through love we're unbridled
Unfettered unchained
Even death is now powerless
Only life remains

Such A Life
05:01
|
|||
Rest your red and weary eyes
Rest in God and rest in light and
Rest assured you'll be alright and
Resting easy
Bless your pure and tender heart
Bless the Lord and you'll go far
Blessed be you as you are a
Blessing to me
What have I, Lord what have I
Done to deserve such a life
I'm just a man
Please understand
All I can do is try
Take my hand and walk along
Take my words and take my song
Take my heart and do no wrong and
Take it easy
Place your faith in God alone who
Placed his Son; blood, flesh and bone in
Place of you here to atone
Here to redeem you
What have I, Lord what have I
Done to deserve such a life
I'm just a man
Please understand
All I can do is try
One day when your life's begun
One day when the earth's in sun
One day when my days are done
You'll hear me singing
Rest your red and weary eyes
Rest in God and rest in light and
Rest assured you'll be alright and
Resting easy
What have I, Lord what have I
Done to deserve such a life
I'm just a man
Please understand
All I can do is try

Trace Your Body
05:53
|
|||
The sunlight stumbles through your window
To lightly dance upon your skin
As I lay here and wish
This was how all days begin
With my mind I trace your body
In my heart I love you more
Than anything I've ever known
I've never felt this way
I've never felt this way before
With this hand capture the moment
With this pen write the score
Every line and every word
Will live on forevermore
With my mind I trace your body
With my heart I love you more
You know I'd give you the world,
But love babe;
Love is all I can afford
Warmth is light; light is love
Love is truth; truth is verse
Verse is song; song is grace
Grace is beauty; beauty is cursed
In my mind I trace your body
In my heart I love you more
In my arms I long to hold you
You're the light I'm looking for

1991
04:26
|
|||
The year nineteen ninety one; that December, your last. I never really knew who you were and I apologize for never really crying. I did not fully grasp the concept of dying, but now as I look back I understand the feelings they had. Fifteen years later I go through your drawer. There are so many things still left to explore. Locked on my wrist, is a memory of you slowly passing time.

Homegrown Tomatoes
03:17
|
|||
Homegrown tomatoes
Hold a special place
In my heart as well as my dinner plate
When I see 'em I just can't wait to stuff my face
There ain't no way
That I don't like 'em
If you've never in your life
Boy you need to try 'em
'Cause it ain't really livin'
Until you've dined on these
Chorus:
Homegrown tomatoes
Taste better when you've made 'em
Getting bigger all season
From the month of May
Through all of Summer's dog days
And just when you think
You can't beat the heat
Man them suckers are
Ready to eat
Grab yourself a seat
'Cause you're in for a treat
You can eat 'em sliced
You can eat 'em sauced
Peeled, pasted, pureed, diced
Or even tossed
In the direction of the stage
If you don't like to song I sing
They come in all colors
Red, orange, and yella
They'll even satisfy
The orneriest fella
On his face he'll wear a smile
Where once developed a frown
Chorus:
Homegrown tomatoes
Taste better when you've made 'em
Getting bigger all season
From the month of May
Through all of Summer's dog days
And just when you think
You can't beat the heat
Man them suckers are
Ready to eat
Grab yourself a seat
'Cause you're in for a treat
When the weather's hot and mean
And the grass is dry
Get you a green tomato
Battered and fried
Topped with some sour cream and chive
What a delight
Now that's a night
Now that's delight
Homegrown tomatoes
Are better than bought
You don't need a thousand acres
Just a little plot
In your backyard
Where the sun shines down a lot
Chorus:
Homegrown tomatoes
Taste better when you've made 'em
Getting bigger all season
From the month of May
Through all of Summer's dog days
And just when you think
You can't beat the heat
Man them suckers are
Ready to eat
Grab yourself a seat
'Cause you're in for a treat
Homegrown tomatoes
Are better than bought
You don't need a thousand acres
Just a little plot
In your backyard
Where the sun shines down a lot
