My beautiful madonna, why wear your crown low? Push it back and dry your weeping eyes so I may see you glow. I reach to help you up to get back on the road, and you look at me with your deep brown eyes just waiting to explode with the pain you have endured. Yet you carry on. I will walk right by your side through this never ending night, and be your impregnable hide. The brim of your smile awakes the sun and signals the dawn as you rub your eyes and begin to yawn. I brush the hair out of your face, and put everything back in its place. Your eyes are the stars in this deep black night, illuminating the sky, guiding my way in this life, and hidden in your curls is the light of the world. My beautiful madonna, why wear your crown low? Push it back and dry your weeping eyes so I may see you glow.

My dearest sweet darling I bid you farewell. Where I am going I wish I could tell you. Lord I wish I could tell, but I don't know myself if its Heaven or Hell. Meet me on high ground way out west. Bring your dancin' shoes, and wear that dress for me. One last time lets spin and twirl. Remember me as I leave this world for the next, that great beyond and burn me up. Consume me fire and burn up my bones. Take me to a higher place where the wind blows for you, for me. The ash it spirals into the sky. It gets higher and higher and higher before I realize that this shell of my life is returning, and I'm yearning to be back inside breathing and dancing and playing, but instead I'm swaying in the tide. I hear you calling my name. I wish I could answer. I wish I could say 'I love you' once more. Consume me fire and burn up my bones. Take me to a higher place where the wind blows, and erect a pyre to burn up my bones for all to see and watch me glow. How can one live and protect themselves from all the evil in this world and still evade the grasp of Hell? A man once told me, be as sharp as a serpent, but as gentle as a lamb. I guess what he means is although we're surrounded by deceit and greed we must be in this world, but not of it. Consume me fire and burn up my bones. Take me to a higher place where the wind blows and erect a pyre to burn up my bones for all to see and watch me glow.

Little Bird 03:44
Little bird you've lost your wings The ability to fly Around and sing And soar into the sky Life is such a fleeting thing Why did you have to die? Once more to hear you sing Once more to see you. Once more to see you fly Little bird trapped in my house Behind the dresser against the wall Oh how you did scream and shout I didn't notice. I didn't notice at all Life is such a fleeting thing Its because of me you died But your noises startled me If I'd found you, you'd still be here alive My little lady's lost her wings While it doesn't make me cry I find it hard to sing her praises And lift her spirits high Life is such a fleeting thing And I'm sorry that she died But you did all that you could do When she left this earth you stood right by her side You stood right by her. You stood right by her side

Escape 06:27
Their eyes they glisten. To the pulsating waves they listen, shrouded by linen in the dark. “Be quiet. Don’t make a sound.” Don’t want to arouse suspicion in this town. Soon you’ll come to know the look of a friend from the gaze of a foe. Soon you’ll come to know the mast is broken the hull has sprung a leak. Floating dead water until we sink. Step out carelessly falling like lemmings into the sea. It won’t be easy; no one must know. Leave across frozen water hidden by snow. Cover our tracks, but threats arise. Must leave in search of friendly skies. On a merchant’s vessel far out at sea, radio for transport recklessly. “Identify yourselves.” Let us just hope that all is well.
5.
Wake Up 05:56
I've got a bed. I've got a woman who rests her head next to mine, and I would do anything for her to see the twinkle in her eyes in the morning when we rise. Wish I could sleep in all day. It feels like I've been, like I've been awake my whole life. Awoken this morning by a sound. The dull thud of shattered glass. Instantly ripped into the now from my recollections of the past. I need sleep. I need sleep. When I rolled over to greet you, all I saw were the wadded sheets you used as you tossed and turned. As the world it burned. As the masses yearned in the rotting ferns, and your stomach churned subconscious concerned with your lover spurned. Will he ever return to this wonderful place, to the sight of you face to your warm embrace? As you state your case you begin to scream 'If its only a dream,' but its only a dream. Yeah, its only a dream. Darling please wake up. Why won't you wake up? Why don't you wake up? Won't you please wake up? Oh won't you wake up? Why don't you wake up? Won't you please wake up from this horrible dream? Its only a dream you wish you never had. Its just a dream you wish you never had. Its only a dream you wish you never had.

I would like to thank Jud Peterson for recording all of the live material I have because without his help none of this would be possible; Elizabeth, for being there for me; my brothers; my family; my friends; Clark, Claire, and Bart for so graciously lending their talents to this endeavor; everyone who was at the Springwater that evening; and you for caring enough to download this.

Enjoy,
